About the Author
Tim Bartholomew is not only a tall novelist but also a reasonably wrinkly actor unable to resist occasionally dragging up as Mimsey McWirter. Angel in Tobago is his fifth novel.
On TV recently, Tim has appeared on the BBC’s Doctors, Call the Midwife and Meet the Richardsons, Warner Brothers’ Pennyworth and Sky’s This England (with Kenneth Branagh as Boris Johnson).
He filmed two movie roles in 2024: a country solicitor in Christmas at Plumhill Manor (starring Maria Menounos) and a comedy vicar for Go Away! with Hugh Bonneville.
In theatre he has tended towards English gentlemen ranging from Captain Hook in Peter Pan to Andrew Wyke in Sleuth.
Tim has featured in about thirty TV commercials. Abroad he has appeared in ads for Twix and Richard Tea in Russia, Swiss wet-wipes, German yoghurt and both Austrian and Israeli chocolate brands. At Christmastime in the UK he has starred as Posh Santa for Marks and Spencer, a dotty Grandpa for ASDA and Scrooge for Currys. Seasonally, then, he is to be found as Mad Santa in a grotto somewhere in Kent.
As a public speaker, he entertains (educationally) at schools and at gatherings of the University of the Third Age, W.I., Probus or Rotary Club, before or after dinner.
Tim is also a bird photographer, inspired by being the son-in-law of Richard ffrench, ornithologist and author of The Birds of Trinidad and Tobago. All photographs on this site (except the book cover itself and the Carnival shots) are by Tim. His pictures are on Instagram and Facebook and his actor/writer website is:

Lessons in Humiliation – by Timothy Edward
Published by Matador Books
The wit of the writing is absolutely sublime and made me continuously laugh out loud. Some writers just have a gift for seeing bizarre characters in an otherwise normal people and bringing them to life, and Edward has this gift. A novel based around the author’s own experiences, it is heart-breakingly hilarious.
Goodreads
"You've either had a very unusual sex life or have a vivid imagination, Tim. I've hidden it from Mummy."

II: Love Knot
Tim Bartholomew ups the ante not only with the sex scenes, but also thrilling adventure. A wicked and totally unforeseen plot line clearly raises the bar. The characters are true to life and the eroticism exceptionally well described.

III: Casting Couch
This trilogy is a must read for fans of eroticism, British humor, stories that don’t belittle or demonize the myriad sexual relationships of humans, and more than enough thrills and mystery to keep the reader turning the pages.
